Allis-Chalmers CSO Pump Range Tuff C Series ANSI B73.1 Chemical Pump
The old Allis Chalmers CSO ANSI B73.1 chemical and process pump range has been around for many years and, as such, Tuff Pumps continues to manufacture “equivalent & interchangeable” parts to suit the old design ~ for continuity and reliability of spare parts (if nothing else)
Having investigated the market for ANSI B73.1 chemical pumps in great detail, it was found that the old CSO style pump design was rather outdated and in need of an upgrade and facelift. With this in mind, and in noting that the “equivalent” CSO parts are still available, Tuff Pumps has created its ALL NEW redesigned and re-engineered “C Series” pump; complete with upgraded modular bearing frame and housing, and the ability to handle more severe, higher temperature, and greater power requirement applications.
As with the P Series (equivalent to the PWO), the C Series (equivalent to the CSO) is manufactured and supplied in a wide variety of materials; from standard all Ductile Iron (DI), through DI/316SS fitted, to all 316SS, CD4Mcu or 20SS (Duplex Stainless Steels) to the more exotic Hastelloys. All bearing frames are separate from the bearing housings (as a modular construction) and can be supplied in Ductile Iron or 316SS (where gland leakage corrosion or similar is a potential problem). The bearing housings and end caps are normally in Ductile Iron but can again be manufactured in other materials (to suit environment and application).
Shafts are normally supplied in SAE 1045 Steel, with options of 316SS or Duplex Stainless Steel being available throughout the range.
In having created an all new design for the C Series, it should be noted that the hydraulics of the NEW design are equivalent to those of the OLD design; with the main design changes being limited to the upgrade of the power/drive end, and aesthetic facelift of the unit in general.
Pump Sizes:
Group 1 Bearing Frame: C1.5/1-6 = 1.5x1x6 CSO C3/1.5-6 = 3x1.5x6 CSO C3/2-6 = 3x2x6 CSO C1.5/1-8 = 1.5x1x8 CSO
Group 2 Bearing Frame: C3/1.5-8.5 = 3x1.5x8.5 CSO C3/2-8.5 = 3x2x8.5 CSO C4/3-8.5 = 4x3x8.5 CSO C6/4-8.5 = 6x4x8.5 CSO C2/1-10 = 2x1x10 CSO C3/1.5-11 = 3x1.5x11 CSO C3/2-11 = 3x2x11 CSO C4/3-11 = 4x3x11 CSO C6/4-11 = 6x4x11 CSO C3/1.5-13 = 3x1.5x13 CSO C3/2-13 = 3x2x13 CSO C4/3-13 = 4x3x13 CSO C6/4-13 = 6x4x13 CSO
Group 3 Bearing Frame: C8/6-13 = 8x6x13 CSO C10/8-13 = 10x8x13 CSO C8/6-15 = 8x6x15 CSO C10/8-15 = 10x8x15 CSO
For those that do not know, the first number in the above pump designation refers to the suction nozzle nominal bore, the second to the discharge nominal bore, and the third to the full impeller diameter.
As with the original range, the Tuff Pumps C Series equivalents can be supplied with standard gland packed stuffing boxes, mechanical seals, or dynamic/expeller type sealing arrangements.
